Normalize unscented laundry detergent and unscented cleaning products. Smell is subjective. I don’t understand why some hotels and Airbnbs wash their linens with artificially scented detergent when they are catering to a wide range of people. Many are nose-blind, but many of us are also sensitive to smells. We can’t escape smell. It’s always there. I’ve stayed at aesthetically beautiful places with linens that smelled like cheap laundromat detergent. It is inconsiderate, offensive, and untasteful. Once my body experiences that obnoxious smell, I will never return. It’s no longer a safe place for me.
