Today, I share a story about a hike I went on with a friend who overtalked. The discomfort I felt pushed me to kick the fear of setting boundaries. The result? Surprisingly pleasant.

In this candid episode, I talked about how the vibe shifted throughout the day. ICE protest. Tension in Los Angeles. A little car accident. Yet, I still felt protected, guided, and ultimately healed by the power of love and music by the end of the night.

I used to be obsessed with talk radio. Growing up in Japan, talk radio was a big deal in the know. It still is. Musicians and artists of all sorts had their shows, and they had loyal fans. I was one of them. I loved it so much that I started creating my own talk show using equipment I had at home. I connected the microphones my grandparents used when doing karaoke (we had a karaoke kit at home) to the stereo system I got for my birthday. I created an agenda with talking points, guest segments, and songs to play in between segments. I invited friends from school to participate in the show. I interviewed them and got them to tell their stories. After the recording, we made sweet and savory crepes on a big electric griddle to treat ourselves. We sipped on black tea, enjoyed crepes, and talked about what we talked about. I had so much fun.

That was my childhood passion. I’ve always been intrigued by stories. Both to tell and listen to. But I’ve brushed off this part of me for the longest time.

Recently, a friend invited me to visit his Podcast recording studio. He wanted me to feel what it was like to be a Podcaster. I hopped in the booth, put on headphones, and started talking into the microphone. I was stunned by how natural and comfortable I felt. It reminded me of when I first started offering healing, and knowing what to do by heart. The friend sent me the audio files we recorded. Although the recordings were for testing purposes, I ended up feeling so inspired that I decided to publish one of them as the first episode of my new Podcast show.

So I present to you, Talk to Fa the Podcast. I am on both Apple Podcasts and Spotify. The first episode is about kindness, seen from opposing perspectives.
